Which camera should I buy?

First of all, if you are looking for a point and shoot camera you are at the wrong hub. Second of all if you are looking for advice from a professional photographer, I am not one, but I do know about cameras. Now that we have got that settled out, let us begin. Nikon or Canon? That answer varies from person to person, but for me, it's Nikon for sure. But that's isn't what you're wondering. You are wondering what camera is right for you. It may be overwhelming walking down those rows upon rows of cameras that look the same. Hand prints from grubby little kids hands all over the once pristine body of the cameras. For some, picking a camera isn't the best experience. That is why I can't stress to you enough that you should have at least your mind narrowed down to two cameras that you feel would suit your needs before going to the store. For me buying a camera was relatively painless, sure there was the odd random charge I hadn't been expecting, but I knew what camera I wanted before I went in there. The Nikon D3100. I walked into 'London Drugs', and picked out my Nikon beauty. The D3100 is an amazing camera, it can take amazing pictures, and beginners and hobbyists alike love the compact design, the easy-to-use interface and the not to shabby price tag. If you are a Canon person though, I would definitely go with a Rebel. My personal favourite rebel, is the T3i. It is more expensive, and the lenses made by Canon aren't even close to as good as Nikons, but none the less the Rebel T3i is a great camera. I would highly suggest for those people who don't know whether to go Nikon or Canon to go Nikon. And once you go Nikon, pick up a D3100.

After decades of using a Canon, I switched to Nikon. I personally think Nikon has more features making that produce better shots than I ever go with my Canon.
